Hans Dekker Biography

Hans Dekker (1955) made his television debut in 1984 with the launch of RUR, the successful late-night talk show hosted by Jan Lenferink. It broke many taboos and ran for 12 years. Before turning to television, Hans was a manager in the music industry. Even as RUR was still running, Hans Dekker launched the daily 'Catherine' chat show hosted by journalist and presenter Catherine Keijl. The show ran for 1000 episodes, and discussed every-day problems with ordinary people. Heated debates were no exception.

Thanks to international collaboration efforts with production companies including Universal (Los Angeles) and Granada/ITV (London), dozens of international television formats were successfully produced for both the Dutch and the Belgian market over the years.

In 2006 he launches a remarkable programme: 'Psychic Challenge' (broadcast by KRO). In this show psychics compete to determine who has the best sixth sense. In 2007 and 2008 the programme continues on RTL4. Hans is surprised by the success of 'Psychic Challenge'. 'We had not expected it to appeal to such a broad audience', he says. Abroad too, the programme proves a hit under the title 'Psychic Challenge'. It is now being produced in dozens of countries.

Hans is CEO and owner in charge of every-day operations at TéVé Media Group, which comprises TéVé Company (Brussels), and TéVé Holland, TéVé Partners and Holland Management (Hilversum).
